Weekend reading (interesting photography articles for the weekend)

Weekend Reading #3 – Travel Photography

Weekend reading brings you interesting photography links every Friday (okay this week it’s Thursday). The theme this week is travel photography.

The death of Fidel Castro has put Cuba in the news. You can catch a glimpse of the life of typical Cubans in Time magazine’s photo essay by Danish photographer Joakim Eskildsen. You should also follow the links to the photographer’s other essays given in the article. Both are highly recommended.

National Geographic has published it’s best photos of 2016. The quality of these images is astounding.

Photographer Omar Robles photographs ballet dancers in Mexico City. It’s part of a long-term project photographing ballet dancers in different countries.

Craft & Vision and Feature Shoot have interviews with photographer Cristina Mittermeier.

Ugo Cei interviewed me for a podcast at The Traveling Image Makers. Click the link to listen to us talk about travel and landscape photography.
